Cordial thanks to all of my followers as I make the transition to my newest blog -
Down the Pie Hole.
A few years back, I worked with a museum colleague who was (still is) one of the most upbeat, good-natured fellows who I have ever known. No matter how daunting the project, he always approached it with optimism and aplomb. "Making the magic happen," he used to say with a smile. The world needs more people like BB.
At our house, affectionately yet somewhat strangely known as "the Worth," the magic happens in a modest 15'x10' kitchen. Incredibly small by today's standards (especially for those who live way out there in suburbia) the kitchen at the Worth is actually just perfect. It should be. We gutted the 1980s-era kitchen of a previous owner, designed a new look consistent with the age of the house, and installed new fixtures, counters, backsplash, flooring, and cabinetry.
I can think of no better way to kick off
Down the Pie Hole than by reflecting back on the daunting task of recreating the one room of the house where I spend the largest percentage of my free time.
